It has become more and more evident in the last thirty years that psychoanalysis alone is not enough to heal from traumatic past events. The work of Peter Levine, Gabor Mate and Bessel van der Kolk recently, have brought this to the edge of the mainstream. The discovery that trauma inhabits the body and not just the mind has been known for millennia through yoga and more recently bioenergetics. It is not a new discovery but thankfully it is now gaining traction in the west. However, the pharmaceutical and medical establishment are not so keen to accept these findings. Learning how to heal your own trauma somatically has no financial reward for the status quo.

We can learn to regulate our nervous systems and gradually burn off the remnants of out trauma, thus becoming free to continue our lives as they should be lived.
